Friends Colloquium

A one-credit, hour-long class, Friends Colloquium meets weekly and examines a Quaker text or some aspect of Quaker faith and practice. Topics have included diversity among Friends, Friends' use of creative writing, and Quakers and the Bible. Previous texts have included Quakers in America, Walk Worthy of Your Calling and The Quaker Bible Reader.

Michael Birkel is teaching the fall 2014 course, “Quakers and Interfaith Relations” where we'll look at Quaker encounters with other faiths, Quaker understandings of interfaith relations, and belonging to multiple traditions, such as QuBus (Quaker Buddhists).
