Spring 2019 Student Job Application

Earlham students are associated with the Joseph Moore Museum (JMM) each semester through academic courses, internships, and volunteer or paid positions. If you are interested in being involved with JMM, please submit our application including a cover letter and resume before January 16th using this link. You must fill out this form and our application on Handshake for full consideration.

We have positions available for Fab Lab (constructing new exhibits), Marketing and Communications (running the non-profit business of the museum, promoting, analyzing visitorship data), Outreach and Hosting (working with the public and school children), Designing and leading Breakouts, and Collections (working with our teaching and research specimens). 

We have at least 8 paid positions open for this spring, but may accept additional students who want to work for credit that will appear on their transcript. At this time, you can register for the Fab Lab or Museum Marketing Applied Teams for credit. It may help to work with us for a semester for credit to develop the necessary skill sets for our teams to help you get a paid position in a future semester. 

Marketing Team Job Description

The Joseph Moore Museum Marketing Team engages the public through regular social media, website, and newsletter content; coordinates with local press for coverage of events; creates and distributes advertisements around campus and Richmond; and prepares a report of the semester’s marketing activities analyzing visitor data, evaluating efficacy and suggesting future directions. Members undergo IT training for managing Earlham-based webpages and sign our Social Media Policy. Members meet as a team 2 times per week and work 4-10 hours weekly. All members must be available Mondays 12-12:50 for a weekly all-staff museum meeting.

Desired Qualifications:  Applicants who have strong interpersonal and communication skills, who are detail-oriented, and are strong in time-management and multi-tasking are encouraged to apply. Applicants do not need to have any natural science background.  Applicants from all class years and a diversity of backgrounds are desired.
