CoLab Project Manager (One-Year Appointment)

Earlham College invites applications for the position of CoLab Project Manager. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal. This full-time, 11-month, hourly staff position includes benefits. The starting pay level is $12.82 per hour, with an increase to $12.97 per hour upon successful completion of 90‑day introductory period.

The CoLab is a newly renovated space on campus that houses our three new interdisciplinary centers: the Center for Global Health, the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation, and the Center for Social Justice. These Centers are designed to build bridges between the traditional liberal arts classroom, co-curricular activities, and exploration of vocational and professional career trajectories. In the CoLab, students have access to state-of-the-art media and collaboration tools that facilitate learning and help them to bridge from theoretical inquiry to having a real-time impact on the world.

This position will report to the Center Directors.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and reliable phone and email contact with external constituencies involved with externships, internships, external post-Baccalaureate opportunities and the 4+ programs, among others.
  • Organize the application processes and maintain databases for various programs, including externships, internships, student travel grants, social entrepreneurship competitions, etc.
  • Oversee the tracking of the Integrated Pathways associated with the Centers, in collaboration with faculty.
  • Organize outreach events for the campus and community that are directly connected to the work of the Centers and CoLab.
  • Coordinate, advertise and assist with activities offered through the various student groups associated with the Centers. 
  • Implement and keep up-to-date the webpage, digital and print marketing materials, and social media presence for the Centers and CoLab.
  • Coordinate with staff in the Center for Career and Community Engagement to offer preparatory and follow-up workshops for students.
  • Provide training to students and faculty on relevant software programs, e.g., Symplicity, AdviseStream, among others. (Prior experience with these programs is not required. The College will provide training.)
  • Oversee instruction for students and faculty pertaining to best practices for the development of new intellectual property.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree is required. 
  • Robust affinity with the purposes and value of a liberal arts education. 
  • Experience in managing programs is a plus.  
  • Ability to communicate successfully with people from diverse backgrounds and an expressed commitment to uphold and further Earlham’s Diversity Aspirations Vision Statement.
  • Manifest digital literacy skills including familiarity with social media, spreadsheets, and word processing programs. Experience tracking data to assess progress toward goals a plus.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail and strong listening, verbal, presentation and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professionalism in demeanor and work habits.
