This year’s Summer Institute will again focus on good teachers and good teaching — how to celebrate the good teaching that is happening and build on it for even more success.  This year participants will read selections from Why We Teach Now edited by Sonia Nieto.  The book contains chapters written by teachers in elementary and secondary schools that will help us all explore why now is a great time to continue to be or begin to be a teacher.  Please join us for an exciting three days of reading, reflecting, sharing, renewing, and imagining.

These three days will focus on:

  • Renewing the passion that brought you to education in the first place
  • Exploring how teachers can truly make a difference in today's classrooms
  • Learning how to meet the needs of our diverse student population

Cost

If you wish to participate in the summer institute but do not wish to earn college credit, the cost for the three-day institute is $80 for three days or $30 for a single day. A three-day registration includes a copy of Why We Teach Now.  You will earn hours that may be part of your professional growth points toward license renewal in Indiana. Graduate credit is also available.
