The 11th Annual Summer Institute

8:30 - 4:00 Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana
June 18 – 20, 2013

Focusing on Good Teachers and Good Teaching:

Collaborating to Help our Students Meet the Challenges of the 21st Century.

This year’s Summer Institute will focus on good teachers and good teaching – how to celebrate the good teaching that is happening and build it for even more success. We will also focus on questioning for critical thinking.

Sessions will help educators explore instruction and assessment that focus on higher order thinking aligned with content standards. There will also be ample time for educators to pursue topics of personal interest and their own questions.

Join us as we confront the myths and realities of the current landscape in education and work collaboratively to develop the questions that will help us grow and strategies that will help us - and our students - thrive.

These three days will focus on:

  • renewing the passion that brought you to education in the first place
  • exploring how good teaching aligns with new teacher accountability
  • teaching to standards without becoming standardized
  • improving not defending your teaching.

Cost

If you wish to participate in the summer institute but do not wish to earn college credit the cost for the three day institute is $75 or $30 for a single day. You will earn hours that may be part of your professional growth points toward license renewal in Indiana. Graduate credit is also available.
