I live in an upperclassman dorm. I live in Mills Hall in a quad this semester. I like Mills because it's a great mixture of people in regards to athletes and non-athletes. It's great to see people connect and communicate.
I'm taking two psychology classes this semester: Counseling and Psychotherapy and Research Methods and Statistics. I'm also doing Women's Chorus, Jazz band, and Gospel Revelations. I'm also taking Institutions and Inequalities. My favorite classes would have to be Institutions and Inequalities. I love talking about race and becoming more educated about race here in America. I also enjoy my research class. I love being able to deconstruct data and presenting it.
I like Earlham because it is diverse and has so much to offer. I can join a bunch of clubs and participate in activities of my interest and of my liking which is great. Earlham offers great courses that will get you ahead in whatever path it is you're taking it.
For the summer, I plan on traveling to Italy to study intermediate piano. I've been playing for almost 15 years now and I want to be able to practice and showcase my talent elsewhere. I will also be working over the summer to build my resume.
My post-Earlham plans include doing an externship and going to graduate school. I'm debating between studying counseling and psychotherapy or doing research. I enjoy both of them.
I would like to thank you for this scholarship again. Without it, I would not be able to travel internationally. I've never been out of the country and I've never been out on my own and this allows me to do that and share this experience with my family and other students and encouraging them to do the same.
