What are your plans for winter/summer break?

My plan for summer break is to hopefully participate in a research experience with plant medicine. I hope to integrate plant medicine into my future career, and I love learning more about plants. But before my research opportunity, I will take a May Term in medical terminology, which will hopefully give me a head start in chiropractor school! I’m looking forward to this summer and I have high hopes for it.

What are your plans post-Earlham?:

After Earlham I hope to go to Chiropractor school in order to get my DC! I have always wanted to be a doctor of some sort and I feel like being a chiropractor will allow me to get close to my patients and practice in holistic health. For instance, instead of curing the headache, I want to cure the source of the headaches. I also hope to integrate plant medicine into my healing practices. I'm not sure how I want to do this, but with the advancements in non-medicinal medicine and educating myself, I look forward to what I find out.

Anything else?

Taking Botany with Brent Smith was probably the best thing I have done with my Earlham career. I never knew I would have such a profound interest in plants, but I really enjoy learning about them. Plant science has never really been on my radar, but I just knew I haven't found my niche in the sciences until then. Who knew I would be able to name native trees in Indiana, and how certain plants use chemical defenses to protect themselves from predators.
