Eric Nicholson '17

Hi Everyone! My name is Eric Nicholson and I am a rising senior Biochemistry Major at Earlham College. I am minoring in Music and Outdoor education. I am a member of Student Government and play volleyball and ultimate Frisbee, as well as many instruments. I am going to Thailand this summer to work at BIOTEC in microbiology. I hope to learn some Thai language and culture while I am here as well as continue building my experience in a research lab. I am currently working on discovering new antibiotics to use against resistant strains of bacteria.

About This Internship:

As a premier research institute in Thailand and Asia, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) operates research units located at Thailand Science Park and specialized laboratories hosted by various universities, employing 570 staff, of which 170 are PhD researchers and 200 research assistants and lab technicians (as of September 2013). BIOTEC research covers a wide spectrum from agricultural science to biomedical science and environmental science.
