Business and networking cards make you memorable ...
It is important to make a lasting and positive impression on potential employers, alumni, networking contacts, conference attenders, and/or speakers. One way to do that is through the use of business and networking cards. Networking cards function like business cards yet can have more information: academic details, GPA, skills, areas of expertise, awards received, leadership positions and more.
Give these away when you want to make a lasting impression on someone, or want to pursue a follow-up conversation at a later date. Use this as an opportunity to ask for someone else's card as well. You will be taken much more seriously if you present a business or networking card, and will find any follow-up contact you make will be received more warmly than if you had not made contact at all. These are a great resource you can use in a variety of settings:
- Use when networking with alums
- Hand them out when you are attending or presenting at a conference or other event
- Trade cards when you talk to a convocation speaker
