Summer Sleight

Summer Sleight, senior metals major, won a merit award with her necklaces

Earlham artists took home three of the "Top 10" awards at the Whitewater Valley Art Competition in Whitewater Hall at Indiana University East. Prize winners include faculty members Nancy Taylor (fiber art) and Mark Van Buskirk (painting), plus Art senior Summer Sleight (metals). Other Earlhamites with art in the show were Leah Park (metals), David Walker (photography), Laura Miller (photography) and Walt Bistline (photography).

Nalara (Leah) Park '13 won a Diane Ferlauto Award for Originality with her metal vessels

Earlhamites took home FIVE of the Amateur Division awards at the opening of the Richmond Art Museum annual juried exhibition. Welling Hall and Nalara (Leah) Park received $100 Originality Awards, Ingrid Kocher and Rodoula Kyvelou-Kokkaliari scored $100 Merit Awards, and Lauren Klaine took home the division's top prize -- the $250 Merit Award. Many other Earlham students and faculty have work in the Amateur and Professional divisions.
