Students return this week from spring break, and are preparing for a race to the bottom – of energy use, that is. Students, faculty and staff have worked together to set up energy monitoring stations for each residence hall. After baseline data is gathered, they’ll compete to use the least energy possible for three weeks. Read more
Three recent graduates are doing graduate work at one of the oldest - and most prestigious - universities. Nadira Khudayberdieva ’10, Charlotte-Anne Malischewski ’11, and Maria Vaikath ’11 will all graduate this year with degrees in the social sciences. Read more
Two Earlham College baseball players were honored on Monday by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference for their performances over the past week. Ryan Hayes was named HCAC Hitter of the Week, while Matt Brankle was selected as the HCAC Pitcher of the Week. The Quakers begin conference play this Friday at Hanover College. Read more

Last month, leading author and public intellectual Dr. Cornel West spoke to a capacity crowd in honor of his friend and Earlham alumnus Manning Marable ’72. Dr. West spoke of his friendship with Marable, and implored Earlham students to find their own original voices, instead of echoing the dominant culture. Read more
