Melissa Moye is a 1984 graduate of Earlham College originally from Mt. Vernon, Ind. and currently living in her adopted state of Maryland and working in Washington, DC.
One of Melissa’s favorite memories of Earlham was her time on the Kenya Program of 1982 where so many people took the time to welcome and teach Earlham’s visiting students. Melissa was active in student groups during her Earlham years, especially the Anti-Apartheid Coalition.
Currently, she serves as a Senior Policy Advisor at the U.S. Department of the Treasury in the Office of State and Local Finance. Prior to joining Treasury, Melissa was Chief Investment Officer for Maryland’s state retirement system, heading the investment division responsible for the state’s $45 billion pension trust fund.
Melissa’s earlier work experience includes economic research and teaching and working for a non-profit fair trade organization. She received a Fulbright scholarship for dissertation research in Spain and finished the Ph.D. in economics from the University of Notre Dame. Melissa joined the Alumni Council in 2012 and is convener of the Development Committee.
