Kirk Bixler '89

KirkbixlerKirk Bixler '89 majored in psychology and minored in religion.  At Earlham he was a hall convener and resident counselor.  He was also in the EC Jazz Band and did minor stints in the radio station. Kirk completed a master's degree in College Student Personnel Administration at Ball State University. He lives in Franklin, Ind., where he works at Franklin College as the assistant dean of students and director of career services. He has been working in student affairs since leaving Earlham and has worked at Albion College, SUNY College at Oswego and Montana State University.  He began his career at Earlham while serving has an interim hall director and housing coordinator during his senior year.

Kirk is married to Cheryl, an elementary school teacher, and has two children, Kathryn and Andrew.  In his spare time he volunteers at the Artcraft Theatre, which shows classic films, and has a small farm where the family raises goats and chickens.  Kirk began his term on the Alumni Council in 2013-14, and he is currently part of the Campus Affairs Committee. His favorite memories of Earlham include playing games with friends in Hoerner Hall and making donut runs to downtown Richmond.
