Betty Joyner '56

Betty -JoynerElizabeth (Betty) Joyner '56, is a professor of Family Medicine and Assistant Director of the Office of Geriatric Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.

Betty is in her second "go around" on the Earlham College Alumni Council having served a total of 17 years on the Council. In May of 1999 Betty was named Outstanding Alumni of Earlham College. Other honors include; May 1994 - Outstanding Professional in the Field of Aging. Recognized by the Joint Council on Geriatric Care of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio; May 1994 - Delegate, National White House Conference on Aging. Appointed by Ohio Governor George Voinovich; May 1998 - Dedication, Senior Care Preferred Program, The University Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio; May 2000 - Outstanding Professor in the Ohio Field of Aging, Recognized Ohio Network of Educator.

Throughout her years on the Alumni Council, Betty has served as a strong advocate for Earlham College. She has also been a stalwart promoter of the role of the Council and the many contributions the Council makes to the well being of the Earlham community including the student life.
