Introduction, Academics | Earlham College Skip to Content

The Earlham Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs are 11-month programs for college graduates who want to pursue careers in education.  The M.A.T. program prepares students to become licensed classroom teachers, where the M.Ed. program is for students interested in pursuing a variety of careers in education outside of the classroom (e.g. outdoor leadership, community based organizations, educational technology, coaching etc.).  Earlham’s programs develop educators who are leaders in their communities, who model outstanding classroom practices, and who prepare their own students to be socially active and morally conscious citizens.
